Your telco lines are a vital data link with
the outside world. But they can also end up bringing some very undesirable
transient spikes into your data ports! The Patton Model 552 installs between
an incoming telco line and a dial-up/leased line modem, ISDN modem (a.k.a.
TA, NTU), T1/E1/PRI or DDS CSU/DSU or other termination hardware. The Model
552 intercepts harmful telco line tran-sients before they cause hardware
damage. Surge energy is then diverted to nearby chassis ground through a
braided metal strap.
The Model 552 has a surge handling capacity of 1500 Watts, and is availablein
seven versions:
The Model 552-D2 (dial-up line) protects RJ-11 pins 3 & 4.
The Model 552-D4 (dual dial-up line) pro-tects RJ-11 pins 2, 3, 4 & 5.
The Model 552-DDS protects RJ-45 pins 1, 2, 7 & 8.
The Model 551-T1 (T1, E1, PRI) protects RJ-45 pins 1, 2, 4, & 5.
The Model 552-U (ISDN) and 552-L4 (leased line) pro-tectRJ-45 pins 3, 4,
5 & 6.
The Model 552-ST (ISDN) protects all 8 RJ-45 pins.
The ISDN versions of the Model 552 pro-tect both data and battery signals.
A 6 (15 cm) adapter cable is supplied with every Model 552 (all versions).
